- A Note From The Math Department -
Some of the grade 11 math students created SELFIES of themselves using mathematical equations.
Their amazing creations combined creativity and mathematics. They were able to extend their knowledge of different types of functions and their graphs, transformations and domain and range.
Here are a few student thoughts:
“Overall, I believe that this assignment has aided me in having a better understanding of the way functions work. Once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed adding small intricate details to my face, and I impressed myself with the final product!”
“In the end it brought a lot of satisfaction to be able to form each part of my face using such a variety of complex mathematical functions and having it actually work together to form a selfie!”
“Even though this assignment may seem easy at a glance, I actually found it to be a little more complicated than I thought and I actually spent lots of time putting in the effort to make my selfie seem as realistic as possible…….All in all, I enjoyed doing this project very much..”
LIFE AS A QUARANTEEN
Ms. Engenheiro’s Grade 12 Religion class has examined ethical and moral principles that affect our world. We touched upon many different issues that have an influence on our morals.

CARTER CREATES WORKS
- A Note From The Religion Department -
COVID-19 has taken a lot away from our lives. We lost the ability to partake in many of our school activities, especially one of our favourites, “Carter Creates”.
Last year, the lockdown took us by surprise and Carter Creates was cancelled. We have adapted and are trying to manage virtual learning. With the continuation of Carter Creates this year, we are blessed with the ability to close off our final year of high school the same way we ended our first; with an integrated arts performance.
Ms. Engenheiro’s Grade 12 Religion class has examined ethical and moral principles that affect our world. We touched upon many different issues that have an influence our morals.
During this pandemic, we have been forced into a situation which made us examine the use of technology so prevalent in our lives and how it influences our moral decisions.
Our class has collaborated to artistically present the issues that play on our conscience by the extensive use of modern day technology in our every day lives.
